Visual Arts

Art is in everything we see from paintings hung in gallery after gallery to the sets, costumes and monsters we see in the biggest budget movies. It’s in advertising on your TV, the logo’s on your favourite fashion brand and the amazing graphics you see on any digital game. But most of all it comes from the strange and wonderful things that fill our head. Imagination is the key to inspiration and passion.

The only rule in Art is to create what inspires you, whether it’s your emotions or something you believe in. Art isn’t liked by everyone but it’s seen and felt by all. Students have opportunities to express their imagination and develop personal imagery, develop skills, and engage in the making and presentation of artworks.

The Visual Arts course engages students in a process that helps them develop motivation, self-esteem,discipline, collaborative practice and resilience, all of which are essential life skills.
