The media is all around us. It gives us entertainment and information; works that are enjoyed and appreciated by audiences for their beauty, their entertainment or interest value, their ingenuity and originality. The media can amuse us, stimulate us, move us and,at times, upset or anger us; but, at the same time, they provoke discussion and the development of opinions, points of view and values.

Media Studies is a very popular subject at Swan View Senior High School. There are units offered in all lower school year groups as well as pathways in upper school that lead to university and further study. Media has close links with the other Arts subjects, especially Drama, Music and Art.
