Emergency Services Cadets

The Emergency Services Cadets were established in 1996 as part of the Cadets WA Program. The Fire and Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia (FESA) is the host organisation and works closely with the:

• State Emergency Service
• Fire and Rescue Service
• Bush Fire Service
• Volunteer Marine Rescue Services
• Community Safety

The ESC Program assists young people to develop practical life skills, leadership, teamwork and initiative skills and fosters qualities of community responsibility and service.

Emergency Service Cadets 2 Who can join?
Young people aged 13 to 17 years in the secondary school system. Training Training is held on Wednesday evenings from 6.30 to 8.30pm at the Swan View Senior High School Gymnasium. Additional camps and excursions are offered throughout the year. As an Emergency Services Cadet you will undertake a variety of interesting and challenging training including:

• First aid and emergency care
• Radio communication
• Fire safety and basic fire fighting
• Search and rescue techniques
• Boating and water safety
• Map reading and navigation
• Field craft and camping
• Leadership and instructional training

What will it cost?
 It is free to join and all Cadets are provided with a uniform on a loan basis.
